8 ounces elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Directions

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Add salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheese until melted. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
Pour the macaroni mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
