1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions

Rinse the chicken pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix with buttermilk.
Dip each chicken piece first in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the flour mixture.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the chicken pieces in batches, turning once, until golden brown and fully cooked, about 15 to 18 minutes.
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
